Quickie Review: Elizabeth The Golden Age

We finished watching Elizabeth: The Golden Age tonight. I may or may not have fallen asleep but that had absolutely nothing to do with the movie and much more to do with the fact that I am totally exhausted from a long day of teaching. Bottom line: Cate Blanchett is amazing as "the Virgin Queen" and I am basically obsessed with the Tudor family and that era (i.e. The Other Boleyn Girl, The Tudors on Showtime, Shakespeare, etc. etc.). The costumes were amazing, the scene with the Spanish Armada had great special effects and I only wish I had as many cool wigs as Her Majesty. Check it out, especially if you liked the first one at all. Plus, who doesn't enjoy a movie about a powerful woman in history? ****
